The doubles team of Preston and Steph Dowell from Club Mesabi in Eveleth came down to Brainerd last weekend and returned home as Rolling Doubles A Event champs. They beat Brainerd’s We Are Groot (Bob and Lori Nelson) in the finals.

This was the second year for the Rolling Doubles Bonspiel, and it filled up with 24 teams almost instantly from all over the state. The two-day bonspiel featured pool play to determine the quarterfinal pairings in each of the three events. Below are the results of each event finals:

A Event – Team Dowell, Preston and Steph Dowell of Curl Mesabi, beat We Are Groot, Bob and Lori Nelson of Brainerd

B Event – Trouble with Doubles, Ian and Molly Cochran of Chaska, beat Roberto Slice, Robert Archer and Tim Thorston of Brainerd

C Event – M&M Hacks, Mike and Mona O’Brien of Superior, Wis., beat Going To 11, Brooke Roecker and Lane Urtel of Frogtown Curling Club in St. Paul

A Event Champs – Preston and Steph Dowell of Club Mesabi in Eveleth

B Event Champs – Trouble with Doubles – Ian and Molly Cochran of Chaska

C Event Winners – M&M Hack – Mike & Mona OBrien of Superior, Wis.
